Description

This is the first English Unit in the undergraduate, pre-service Bachelor of Education program. The unit introduces students to the teaching of English language, literacy and literature in the primary school.

During this program, students will be given a framework for talking and thinking about the teaching of language and literacy. They are introduced to the place of literacy in the primary school curriculum with reference to relevant syllabus documents.

This unit provides a foundation on which students can build knowledge about the strands of the primary school English curriculum: talking and listening, reading and writing.
