2 1 Rosenthal E. O. Schlunke , 1939 single work novel

Written by E. O. Schlunke, the romance depicts very refreshingly the struggles, adventures, joys, and sorrows of a pioneer family in Australia, through successive generations.

Deriving from Germany, the original Weismanns, like the Pilgrim Fathers, left their homeland to attain liberty of conscience. Their domestic and religious troubles, their struggle to win success against adverse conditions, and the ambitions and loves of their children (who develop into thorough-going Australians) make absorbing reading—reading which is the more convincing because the author paints the Australian scene in faithful colours.
