'Ex-cop Les Kearney (Simon Westaway) gets dragged away from his favourite Sea Wind Surf Club by a kidnap case. Construction boss Bob Castaldi (Barry Langrishe) is the client whose daughter Rebecca (Anja Coleby) is being held for a million dollar ransom. Even ‘Finder’ Les is insecure about the job, but Bob won’t call in the cops. As the ransom deadline approaches, Les gets ensnared in two killings and his ex-boss, Sgt Jack Matthews (Gerard McGuire) is handing him yet another deadline – or he’s busted. Meanwhile, the drug dealers operating around the nightcul where Rebecca was drugged are also after Les, led by elder brother Leo Natoli (Paul Mercurio). The chances of success are slim.'

'Kensit plays a hotshot policewoman, Kelly Wheatstone, who, together with her partner, Frank Yankovitch (Robert Reynolds) is investigating a series of killings in which the nude bodies of the female victims are arranged in poses like subjects in the paintings of Knowles (Craig Ashley), who becomes a prime suspect. But Frank is distracted from the manhunt because he suspects (correctly) that Helena (Rebecca Rigg), his wife of a few months, is having a secret affair. When Helena’s lover is found dead, suspicion naturally [falls] on Frank.'

'Small town hairdresser Leonie Stevens (Linda Blair) is instantly attracted to mysterious drifter Joe Martinez (Jerome Ehlers). Leonie packs her bags and heads south with Joe, who says he’s going to set up a car business with his brother Jack. En route, Joe seduces teenager Bree Boon (Penny Pederson), who is later found murdered. Her strictly religious father, Anthony (Stephen Leeder), starts his own investigation into Bree’s death and stumbles on Leonie at the site of another murder linked to Joe. Meanwhile, Jack has disappeared and it seems his business associates, Rocky Borgetti (Donal Gibson) and Claw Miller (Joe Bugner), know more than they’re saying. Leonie suspects Joe is a serial killer and decides to leave him.'

Ostensibly a sequel to 1977's Summer City, the film follows a young man who heads out of Sydney and up the coast, only to find himself tangled up with a beach dweller, his Indigenous Australian friend, and the police who mistrust surfers.
