'Songlines, Stories from Yarrabah and beyond brings together lyrics, related commentary and images reflecting author Barry Cedric's work as a singer/songwriter and educator. Cedric, who hails from Yarrabah, in Goongandji country, Far North Queensland, takes us on a journey through songs from the 1980s to the present day. It's a journey rich with poetry, politics and poignant messages about life as an Indigenous person in Queesland and more broadly in Australia. The book is presented in four parts: The land and me are one, People of the future, Love letters, and Culture alive; and includes examples of Cedric's original artworks along with an archive of personal and historical photographs. It is a book, as Cedric explains, "to be shared and used as an educational, historical and teaching resource for schools, TAFE, universities, families and communities."'  (Publication summary)
