This emigrant guide was compiled by George Alfred Josephus Tucker (1835-1902), commissioner for New South Wales to the Amsterdam International Exhibition. The information was obtained from 'Authorised Statistics' by Major Thomas Richards. This short pamphlet put forth New South Wales as Australia's foremost colony, and provided a brief overview of the progress of the colony. The guide emphasised the advantages made within the colony in a short period of time.
