AustLit is the result of twenty years of development by a consortia of universities and libraries, representing the work of countless indexers, researchers, programmers, researchers, and project managers. Behind AustLit are even more years of work on foundational projects that fed into and enhanced the AustLit database.
This exhibition begins to map the rich history of these projects and collaborations.
The digital history of AustLit has been developed from a range of sources, including the published work of AustLit researchers, indexers, and managers, and the archives of the AustLit newsletter.
Much of the research and development for this digital history of AustLit was undertaken, in consultation with AustLit staff, by intern Jasmin McGregor. Jasmin has just completed a Bachelor of Arts at The University of Queensland with an extended major in English and a minor in Writing. Her interests are largely focused on Early Modern literature and drama. Jasmin hopes to continue studying and undertake an honours program in English Literature in 2022.
AustLit's 20th anniversary celebrations owe their distinctive look to Adibah Nasiman, who designed the colour palette and collateral for the anniversary. Adibah is a Master of Strategic Communication student at The University of Queensland, who worked with AustLit, especially for the 20th-anniversary media collateral, as part of the COMU7015 Practicum. She will be graduating by the end of 2021 and is currently looking for new challenges in public relations; she is passionate about social change and community engagement.
