AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'This creation was originally inspired by The Holiwater Project: the travels, film footage, photos and stories of a talented photographer and filmmaker (Andrei Jewell) plus his friends. Andrei's rich cinematographic footage has inspired an enthralling adventure about a man, Agamani, who in search of freedom, breaks with his social trappings to find a new path. Agamani finds an older mentor, Kamesh, who teaches him the ways of being a mendicant mystical minstrel. Together, they undertake an ambitious pilgrimage in search of the elusive Monkumar and other answers to life's big questions. Their journey takes them from a place close to the mouth of the river in West Bengal to a spot high in the Himalayas near the source of the Ganges. This is an epic journey for the two elders, especially the older of the two kinsmen. As they approach Gaumukh, the situation gets dire for the older of the two men, whose failing health threatens their existence and their quest to find Monkumar. Along their path to this crisis point, they travel to sacred places, meet remarkable people, participate in protests, witness miracles and attend the most auspicious of global spiritual events.'
