Is it a whale? Kaz bounds down to the beach to see what it is and finds, to her surprise, that the whale is carrying Uprights, or men. The men come ashore and set up camp, but then they spot Kaz. They have never seen a kangaroo before, never seen an animal moving this way, or an animal with a pouch! They decide to get nearer to investigate. Kaz is in danger but then the Upright in charge, wearing a blue uniform and big black hat, comes to her rescue (Libraries Australia).
