Pamela Trotman in Conversation with Kerry Reed-Gilbert, Pamela Trotman , Kerry Reed-Gilbert , sequence poetry

The 'conversation' is series of three poems, written in response to one another: Pamela Trotman writes in response to Kerry Reed-Gilbert's 'Culturally Appropriate?', Kerry Reed-Gilbert responds to Trotman's response, and the series concludes by reprinting the original poem.

(p. 12-13)
Culturally Appropriatei"From a white fella who is sick to death of seeing other white fellas trying to be “Culturally Appropriate”", Pamela Trotman , single work poetry (p. 12-13)
Note: Editor's note: In 2004, Pamela wrote a response to Kerry Reed Gilbert’s original poem (Kerry’s original poem is reprinted with permission at the end of this story). Pamela mirrored the idiom of Kerry’s poem and the Aboriginal people with whom she was working at that time.
Culturally Appropriatei"Hey, brother you heard them words", Kerry Reed-Gilbert , single work poetry (p. 13)
Note: Editor's note: Kerry Reed Gilbert’s original poem, ‘Culturally Appropriate?’ (below), was first published in Talkin’ About Country in 2002 and is re-printed here with Kerry’s permission, including a new final stanza she added just for Pamela.
By Jove She's Got Iti"Hey Pam you got it right.", Kerry Reed-Gilbert , single work poetry (p. 13)
Note: Editor's note: In July 2014 and in preparation to publish this article, Pamela sent Kerry a copy of the response she wrote to her poem back in 2004. In return, Kerry wrote this poem in response to Pamela.
