History

'The Darebin Mayor’s Writing Award is for unpublished writing and encourages local writers to compose something new, as such generating new writing and fostering a generative, creative culture.'

Award was listed in 2019, but no winners have been traced: may have been disrupted by COVID-19.

In 2020, the Council ran a writing award for primary and secondary school students, funded by the Council's Community and Local Business Resilience and Recovery Package, in response to COVID-19.
