BiographyHistory

Carole Ferrier received a BA (Hons) from the University of London and completed a PhD on D. H. Lawrence at the University of Auckland in 1971. She has been a lecturer in English at the University of Queensland since the early 1970s. In 1975 she was the founding editor of Hecate, one of Australia's longest-running feminist journals. She became General Editor of the Australian Women's Book Review in 2001. Ferrier has published widely in the areas of women's writing and feminist literary theory, including the books As Good As a Yarn with You (1992), an edited collection of the letters exchanged by six Australian women novelists, The Janet Frame Reader (1995) and Jean Devanny: Romantic Revolutionary (1999).
