BiographyHistory

'Astrid is Director of Strategy at Bad Producer Productions, a content creation company. Bad Producer Productions specialises in podcasts, with the Game Changers: Radio podcast nominated for Best Podcast 2016 in the Mumbrella Publish Awards.

'Astrid also teaches professional writing at RMIT University and serves as Vice Chair of the Committee of Management at Writers Victoria. In 2016 she judged the Grace Marion Wilson Emerging Writers Prize and the short story category in the Aurealis Awards. She also became the blogger-in-residence at Florence Guild, a club for thinkers. In 2015 she was awarded a Hot Desk Fellowship at The Wheeler Centre.

'Prior to all of this, Astrid explored the road-less-travelled. She taught Classical Latin at a private girls school in Sydney, represented the Australian Government at the United Nations in New York, was awarded a fellowship at the US Department of State in Washington, and worked for a private American intelligence agency in Austin, Texas (yes, really).

'Astrid is an obsessive reader. As a teenager, her parents had to confiscate her books and bribe her to go out with her friends just so she would see the light of day. Twenty years later, nothing much has changed.' (Source : The Garret website)
